5 Gallon planted shrimp nano ![]() Start: 23/02/2013 Dimensions: 26 x 26 x 29 (cm) Temperature: 27° Water changes: 30% every day (for now) Flora:

Filter: none for now, but I might be ordering a hang-on one pretty soon Heater: Elite Mini Submersible Pre-Set Heater, 50W Air pump: Marina 50 Air Pump Light: ACME 20W / 827 (2700K) economy light bulb and a simple clip-on desktop lighting fixture which we stopped using lately CO2: DIY (yeast, sugar, soda) w/ glass diffuser (like this one) Substrate: black, 2-3mm (packaging says it is TTL (R), but I failed to find any information about them) Any suggestions? I don't think the spectrum on that light is optimal for plants. Also, the shrimp might enjoy some places to hide (driftwood, rocks). Other than that, looking good.

A new lighting solution (most probably a CFL @ 6500K) will be brought in this weekend. Forgot to mention that.

Get a sponge filter. They're cheaper, safer for shrimp and IMO more effective in a smaller tank.
