Malabar Dwarf Puffers
I just got some of these puffers and was curious if Whole baby Freeze Dried shrimp would be good to feed them since I forgot to buy the frozen brine shrimp.
Also are there any meats or cooked foods they would eat? Thanks, |

Using freeze dried food isn't a good idea , Using dry freeze dried foods can cause health issues and can lead to death, much like feeding uncooked rice to birds.
I would feed them frozen bloodworms as a staple diet. Mine currently dont eat frozen so eat live bloodworms, im training them to eat frozen bloodworms as many do. Also brine shrimp are not a good diet for dwarf puffers , they dont have the correct nutrients in turn this will shorten their life. Sorry for rambling on! I wanna see picys ! |

Im not sure.if I have the same puffers but I know they are small and dwarf. I didn't realize they didn't eat algae wafers. They do eat my snails, so hopefully they wont starve. My snail population is very little thanks to these guys.

Mine are on a primary diet of frozen bloodworms, I also give them live snails daily and frozen brine shrimp every once in a while.

The other half and I feed ours live blackworms and snails. They are particularly fond of snails. We've had good luck in getting them to spawn as well!

Decent website dedicated to Dwarf Puffers.
Mine eat snails, live blackworms, and frozen bloodworms. Nothing else that I have tried perked their interest.
