I'm thinking of redoing the emersed hardscape of it. But there's a bit too many projects going on right now.

Even though the tank is 8' long, it only holds about 50 gallons of water. Height of the tank (water bit) is 12" and width 16". (240 x 40 x 30 cm)

A pic, perhaps, for folks that haven't seen it...?

I love the "woodwork". I truly do. The rocks on the right look a bit like they were placed versus natural, but still looks incredible!!

How? He kind of decided to move in with me about twelve years ago.

He's actually planning on starting a tank of his own. I'm trying to encourage him.

Love your little companion! I've got a family of 5 (Momma and kids) living next door to me and every night at dusk they come alive. Crossing the fence to get to my small water feature for a drink - then off for the nights prowl. I can only imagine what it must be like to live with one!

So in Texas they produce more than one litter per year? If I have been informed correctly, they wean the bebes at about 4-5 months (?), so the spring litter should be kicked out by now...
Great to hear of someone not hating the buggers. I mean, I know they do a lot of harm and mess up the hoods, but still.
One of the most adaptive mammals, after humans. Gotta respect it!
I'm kinda honored to be in a position to experience one and see the qualities leading to the adaptability, first hand.

I spent 6 months in Vancouver back in the days, and had a male raccoon living in a cedar on the backyard of the house I lived in. He was the coolest guy to talk to, while taking a bath in the hot tub at dusk.

Sorry for more off topic everyone... but these little guys fascinate me to no end, and yes they are so resourceful! Yes, 4 little ones this year - only three the previous year. They seem to stick with momma for about a year around here. They are just a little bit smaller then her now. I thought they had moved on, but then saw all 5 cross the fence back to the house this last weekend! They should all be dispersed by end of April. I'd be honored as well if I were in your shoes! Oh and Vancouver! Love that town - I've got a bit of family on that side of the bay and love to visit up there, luck you to have lived there!
