How funny is that... when i first buy my fish at pet-store, they always seem rather lethargic, skinny,n so on..
A few days later under my care.. they got great appetite, full bellies n lots of energy hehehe...
Here's a video taken with their night light, they very relax under the less bright light n I think they like it better.

Very beautiful setup you have going on. I love the duboisi tropheus, def one of my favorites.
Side note - didn't know I was watching a love video hahaha funny music on there. Was waiting for you to pop your head in there and start singing along with chorus haha

I used to be into African cichlids, and in-tank backgrounds were all the rage at the time...

Don't know if you've seen them before, but this is what google came up...

Waw !! I really like that stuff!! Ive seen a few of them around but where can u get one of those? And can u make one of those? And then you gotta match your own hardscape n layout to it hehe... thx!

The best ones are made in Europe, but there is an American distributor and I think there is even one up here in Canada that is a national distributor.

I've seen some videos on YouTube that show you how to make your own, but it's quite involved.

Warning though, once you start researching these things, the more you will want one....

I came very close to buying one for a 10 gal Tanganyikan shell dweller tank, but went Amazon instead.

Im sure im capable of making one.. Im not muh into winter sports so my aquarium will keep me busy this winter hahaha..
If you look into my Paludarium Thread you'll see that the cement structure is sorta like a rocky in-tank background. But obviously never using cement again cuz only this month Nov- that its been non-toxic to the fish. Before when I built it in June, it would even kill java moss and any plant that touches the water lol...

Wow. Tanks look amazing. I'm trying to do something similiar to my 46g. Did you do anything special to make sure the rocks didn't have any nastiness? I'm hoping to get around to getting some nice rocks next week.

I did everything i wasnt supposed to do actually...
I took rocks from river, gave them a lil scrub, but kept their natural moss and put in tank... no one died... Good.. lol

Some would suggest you boil the rocks but them u kills all the pretty moss/coloration that their acquired in the nature.. so.. really up to you haha..
