CBS and CRS in same tank?

Hi,

If I put CBS and CRS in same tank, will they cross to each other? or do I have to separate them?

Yes. I believe that CBS are wild-type and therefore dominant over CRS-genes, so you will get more CBS than CRS.

what if SSS grade for both CBS and CRS, that mean will get more SSS for CBS? or this will come out in different grade?

Assuming the previous post is correct, if you mate a cbs x crs, all will be black in the first generation if they don't carry recessives.

Since red is a recessive trait, it will outbreed black. Because even most blacks these dayd have been bred with reds in the past, the blacks have the recessive gene as well. In my own mixed tank offspring ends up being about 80% crs, 15% cbs and 5% golden.

Breeding high grades with each other will should yield high grades most of the time. But, there might be a possibility of a lower grade AKA SS or S appearing.

Just make a cull tank and sell off the ones you don't want, but getting lower grades shouldn't be common since you have 100% of SSS for both CBS and CRS

Chances of getting SSS (CRS or CBS) from SSS CRS x SSS CBS is the same as SSS CRS x SSS CRS. It depends mostly on how "pure" the pair carries, not the colour.

For example, I have a male golden x female SSS CBS, more than half offsprings are SSS, then of all the SSS offsping, about 70% are CBS, 30% are CRS. Another pair of SSS x SSS didn't yield as high percentage of SSS offspring.

After cycled for a month and my CRS/CBS SSS grade also just arrived yesterday ... so here is my shrimps in the tank now .. both are in same tank



My current TDS: 125, Ph: 6.5, Temp: 72.

Those are some nice shrimp!! Keeping blacks and reds should not be a problem, but I have seen pictures of some crystal browns that popped up.

In my experience they will make some brown babies. (The black or red stripes are brown).

if some babies turn into brown mixed with red/black, like the picture from sayurasem then it's not a good looking shrimp, but if it's only brown show up then it's different look .. anyone have any idea about it?
