Then ur not benefitting the fish right there

co2 is cheap. a little agitation goes a long way to a happy healthy tank.. it also allows ur co2 concentration to go higher safely.

more oxygen allows fish to handle more co2 better

my fish were fine, my plants were fine and my tank/filter was healthy
...so what are we even discussing here? obviously, there are many different ways to approach a tank and be successful

o2 is quite hard to dissolve in a reactor. There was some air stuck on my reactor after i cleaned it out and it took hours to disappear.

I use a small airstone to gas out my tank at night. I strapped it next to the intake piping so its hidden quite well in the corner.

I used to think like that, but when I started to let the water return ripple the surface I saw a huge improvment in my fish and a few plants.

A wise man once told me, if you look at a river that has plants and stuff growing, the water isnt calm. There is always a current. If it works for them..then it should definitly work for us. Also water current is free compared to making a unit for a 02 reactor. Or just get a wet/dry sump

Dont take my word on it, ive tried every method out there. Just try things out urself. Ur obviously smart enough to come to ur own conclusions

I remember "The Behemoth" (a 1000+ gallon tank managed by Tom Barr, search for the thread) having O2 injection to keep a concentration of 8ppm.

these are rare instances.. having a huge tank like that makes it hard to keep co2 levels high AND oxygen levels high..

so at some point it becomes easier and more efficient to just inject oxygen
even tom will tell u surface agitation and a wet/dry are generally the best ways to get oxygen into the water

is KCl or K2SO4 a "better" method to introduce potassium into a tank? Even though one has more K (per weight) than the other, if I had a jug full of K2SO4, I wouldnt run out and buy KCl just because...

both methods work!
