Meijers sales

So last week I was browsing at my local Meijers and noticed they had their brand of Tetra 29 gallon tanks for 29 dollars... Are they starting to copy petco? I think they carry 5, 10, 20h and 29 gallon tanks.

also... their brand of Tetra tanks seem to be a lot better then the standard ones you find at petco. they don't look as sloppy.

Yet to see dollar a gallon at mine, but I've seen close, like 12$ for a ten gallon.

Would be nice if they did it though all over.

Nope, sorry. I always correct people about Meijer not being Meijers. Regardless of when, where, or whom.

Its like saying , hey I'm going to WalMarts do you need anything while I'm there.

Sorry to be off point from Blackheart's original post.

Meijer is the family name, therefore Meijer's would be the possesive, and Meijers would be the plural form.
I'm going to Meijer's is the same as going to Meijer.
Walmarts is the plural of Walmart.

That said, glad to see more Michigan members.

That's nice to see sales. It seems like everytime I go in the fish section they have nice big plants but the tanks are not in great shape.

Agreed Yukon, tanks are usually pretty rough, lots of ich.

Our Meijer's in Birch Run, has been doing a lot of pet related sales lately, think the might be clearing inventory before stocking new items.

Wish they'd do a clearance on tanks haha.

Yeah they always have tons of plants... far better options than any of the LFS around here. The LFS never has anything for some reason.

This time of year most plants melt easily.

Anything below 10 degrees in unheated transport is mush in a few hours, except the hardiest of plants.
my local has new plants for the first time since the temps dropped Again.

Mass bulk, temp controlled shipping, and distribution centers located very close to major highways and stores.

Honestly I think overnighting with heat packs can work small, like members here, but would be cost Inefficient as it would require too much.

I'm guessing one truck delivers nothing but live plants and animals to 4 stores or so and thats all it does.

When I worked there years ago. We would get The live fish shipment in on Thursdays only. And they would come in normal Live fish boxes with the Styrofoam inserts and heat packs. Totally crammed full of bags. Some where fish. Some where Plants. Some where Mixed. I can't remember if we ever got other animals in with the fish or not. Anywho. We would get our fish in with our nightly delivery trucks as normal. They must have been delivered from the airport to the warehouse and put directly on the delivery truck(s) for our store.
