Increased C02 without fish any benefit?

I don't have any fish right now, but I do have plants. Would ramping CO2 up to the yellow level on drop checker (70ppm) have any benefit on plant growth rates? Fish won't tolerate that so they have to go down next week, but for now?

I think that the optimum level of Co2 to grow plants successfully is about 30ppm. So I would say no to your question

If you start pumping CO2 into your tank, eventually you're going to hit a state which is called pearling. In which CO2 bubbles will be emitted from your plants. Once you have so much CO2 in the water that the plants themselves start giving off Oxygen. This is of course, with enough light and CO2.

So, if you start pumping CO2 you could actually kill the plants. They need Oxygen too. So I say play with the settings. Increase/decrease light/CO2 until you can get the pearling effect.

How do you check for 30ppm? I have a drop checker, but seeing this thread made me think.
