Amano shrimp alternatives

I've had some evil thready algae in my aquariums that amano shrimp absolutely OBLITERATED the last time I had them, but I've had trouble sourcing good, reasonably priced amano shrimp.

Is there any other fish/snail/invert that's generally community safe that will do a good job of eating some of these evil algaes?

I believe malawa shrimp eats algae.
