Here's another for Queens:
Animal Pantry 13720 Crossbay Blvd # 1 Jamaica, NY 11417 (718) 845-8400 I'm assuming you're leaving out Petcos and Petsmarts? |

In manhattan there are a few petcos & petsmarts that are occasionally worth checking out. And of course the numerous petland discounts that are either hit/miss on their fish & plants.

I think Petland by Pace is a worthwhile store to add.
Some decent deals and I usually end up buying something there. 132 Nassau Street, New York, NY Last edited by mach_six; 11-20-2012 at 08:06 PM.. Reason: edit |

Might be a little far out for a thread called NYC LFS, but two L.I. stores well above average fish-wise would have to be:
Country Critters 152 Medford Avenue Patchogue, NY 11772 (631) 758-6777 Magic Isle Aquarium 205 Centereach Mall Centereach, NY 11720 (631) 585-2939 |

Aside from the smiley faces....I think we should also include some sort of symbol to signify whether we are able to haggle or bargin over the prices --> since many of these LFS are asian runned.
I'll start by contributing my experience: -- Pacific: price-negotiating potential if you buy from them in large quantity. -- Royal Aqua World: definitely possible, if you haggle over the right items...and if that asian lady is in a good mood that day LOL. |

We can probably create a thread for each one of these... and update on the specifics?

Doesn't Pacific give discounts for TPT members? Somehow I never wind up paying the full price I'm quoted for my rocks.
... I just realized that technically, I took the train into Manhattan to buy three pounds of rocks. |

10% off normally, 15% when we have tours, but it also depends on who is writing your receipt, since not all of them that work there are aware. I'm getting the impression they recognize many of the forum regulars.

Nice list. Though House of Fish & Pets and Animal Pantry are nowhere near Elmhurst
Also, add Aqua Hut to the list. Aqua Hut Inc 264 Middle Country Road, Coram, NY 11727 (631) 732-3620
