I might have too much technology at my disposal...

Right now, my phone is doing this funny thing where it's refusing to accept a charge and it's ruining my life. (I kid. Mostly. I AM barely out of my teens, after all. It's a dramatic stage in life.)

So, to get everything off of my phone so I can replace it without having to do the whole rigamarole later, I have set up: My netbook (whose screen is too tin to do large-scale file transfers on), to take the data off my SD card in my phone and transfer it via external hard drive to: my Lenovo (which is 10 years old and dosen't have an SD slot), so that I can sort through everything and finally move everything that needs to be stored via USB drive to: my desktop (which has an SD slot but not one that can handle the 4gb micro SD cards, even in an adapter), for long-term storage. This is all being done to a background of Pandora (my classic rock station), which is streaming over my tablet to free up processing power on the computers doing the transferring, sorting, and so-on.

My living room is a mess of cables, USB drives, and flickering lights. My roommate is going to murder me when she gets home

"You're like, two years older than me."

Aaaahhh It's funny because it's true. The pace of technology is making generations shorter and shorter in terms of experiences...

And then there are people like my dad and uncle, who are early adopters of every technology, and by the time everyone else gets it, they're like, "Yeah, old news, what's next?"

I have no doubt that if we could afford it, my dad would have a 3D printer and already be printing off god-knows-what--little D&D figurines, I bet...
