Medium or O size boxes are good. Lined or not with styro doesnt matter that much. Ive done 30 shrimp in a single bag before no big deal. Heat pack if temps are under 40 just for safety, but like morph said.....they can handle cooler temps. Just pack with a space filler product. (Newspaper, paper towels, peanuts, bubble wrap) that shipping job moose posted is superior and will likely never fail. Packages do arrive perfectly safe and sound with far less effort and cost involved also though

That's what I liked about this guy's pack job. He used cheapo crap wall insulation that cost him about 50 cents, and a heat pack. The most expensive items were the breather bags. It was smart and effective.

The method you shared with us should be quick and easy. Just need to find some of those 72 hour heat packs. Online and waiting for those, too, I guess.

If you pack your box with standard insulation (wrap the shrimp in the middle) it will work much better than styrofoam boxes. I only use heat packs if both ends of the shipments are below freezing for the highs and lows. Heat packs used at higher temperatures will do more harm than good, you have to keep in mind they aren't exposed to the cold for the entire time their in transit

Think I'm more concerned with the weather on the other end of the journey. And worry about overheating and the beginning of it.

Shame there isn't a way to delay the heat pack from warming up.

heat packs have their own built in delay... It takes several hours for it to warm up to 100 degrees

i like the blown fiber recycled cardboard stuff for packing and i always use styro to line the boxes
