Axolotl in planted tank

I want to convert my planted tank to an axolotl tank in the future and have a few questions about them.

1. Is it ok to inject co2 and dose ferts with axolotls?

2. My tank is open top so how far should I keep the water level to be safe?

3. Are plants such as crypts ok at low water temps like 16c-18c?

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't dose CO2 or fertilizers into an Axie tank. They are pretty sensitive creatures.

Also Axolotls are known to escape from tanks, I would suggest a lid of some sort.

As far as plants? It depends on the plants.. I keep Clawed Frogs (kind of a similar animal really) in cooler water.. around 20C. I keep xmas moss, vals, water sprite, anubias, and bacopa at these temperatures and my tank is a jungle and I throw water sprite away like crazy.. I don't think 18C would make a huge difference, they should all grow fine.

**I had crypts in that too at one point in time but I moved them to a tropical tank, but they never did poorly in my temperate tank I just needed some plants to fill another tank so I relocated them.

I keep my axolotl in my planted tank.. I keep her at 75f.. they generally like cooler temps but she doesnt show any signs of stress and eats like a hog.. I also run co2 very high.. she seems to b the least affected by it really. Does full ei.. have put excell in with her. Have done h202 spot treatmeants... she is the hardiest creature ive owned. .

She has eaten all my other fish tho.. cool animal to own.. had her over a year now. And is super messy. I have to gravel vac her waste up about once a week. Sorry for unorganized reply.. im in a meeting lol.
