Low Tech Lighting Question

Hello all,

I'm looking to set up my first serious planted tank in the next couple months, and I'm needing a good light before I get started. I'm wanting to keep this tank low tech, an I've read a lot on here about the Finnex Planted +. I have a 56 gallon aquarium that measures 30" x 18" x 24". Will this fixture give me sufficient lighting for a planted tank?

yeah, save your self the trouble of buying the wrong light and go with the planted+. great light and a reasonable price. I really like mine.

So will one be enough for all my low light plants at that depth? I plan on adding crypts, Amazon Swords, Dwarf Sag, Java Ferns, and Anubias.

I have one Planted+ on a 20.5" deep tank (36 bowfront) with 2" of substrate. No other lighting. It is deep, but not quite 24" deep.

I'm planted with all of the above, except I have no dwarf sag. All of the plants all seem to being doing fine light wise, as they're all forming new roots, leaves, etc, albeit slowly. However, this is really only 3-weeks so far, so take those results with a grain of salt (size left you your choosing)

You'll be fine with that light I grow dwarf sag, crypts, jungle val, Anubias, and, Bacopa under a 20 tall with that fixture. Also keep in mind those plants are root feeders get a good base under them and you'll be surprised
