Strange Inverts in 55g???

Hey Everyone,

While looking closely at my plants and driftwood in my 55g I noticed some (5+) tiny inverts of some kind on the large stump and on the stems of a few of my crypts. They are less than a centimeter in overall length and look like Apistasia you get in a marine tank! They have a tube looking main body with 4 or 5 tentacles. They react when I touch them with tweezers by retracting their tentacles and shrinking! I have watched pond snails touch them, and the snails don't seem to be bothered/stung by them.

Does anyone know what they are, and how to get rid of them???

Hydra is what I imagine they are and if so they will catch small fry. As far as killing them I do not know never had them myself sorry.

Panacur-c.

Something like .1 grams per ten gallons.

If they are hydra, anyway...

I have only found a few so far, and I have TONS OF POND SNAILS! Since the link says the Pond Snails eat them that is probably why I have only seen a few! I have NO fish in the tank, so I haven't been feeding at all!

I just dirted the tank on 10-2-12, so maybe they cane from the Miracle grow organic potting soil!

I am planning on just having small fish in the tank, so I HAVE TO KILL THEM FAST!

I will check out the Panacur-c, and the web site form the link says gouramies will eat them, so I could do both I guess!

I will let Yall know how it goes!

I forgot I got some Malaysian Pond Snails, and they were added to the tank last week when I was Farm Sitting for my Parents!

So I bet they came in that way!

Anyway not to big of deal, as long as I can get rid of them!
