55 Gal Planted Tank Newbie
Hello all and thanks for answering my question in advance.
I have a 55 gal long tank that I currently have organic potting soil for a substrate. Then black diamond sand on top. I currently have a DIY Co2 system with (2) 2L bottles tied in. For the lighting I currently have a Marineland Single Bright LED Lighting System. I am starting off slow I hope with these 2 types of plants. Java Fern (Microsorium pteropus) and Anubias, minima They seem to be doing well I have had this tank running for about 2 months now. I have new growth and have seperated the bunch and once. I recently had a heater go out on my and killed all my fish but one, I am getting a new in-line heater to go with my fluval 306. My questions is I like the low light plants but I am looking for some moss the will creep in low light to attach to my drift wood and or rock scape. I also have 2 heat lamps that i got from the reptile section and put in a 15w bulb and a 100W heat lamp with UV. Do I really need that for the low light or will the Marine light work. Do I need to upgrade my lighting? Also I am looking for some really neat ideas for scaping my tank. Thanks again for your input. |

All mosses grow in low light.
