I've never had luck with adult females so I'm really hoping this girl will be the exception.

I meet a odd little old lady at perco this week and she was buying all the betta they had(about 20)when I ask why so many she said she have a 75gal sorority tank and 15 10gal divide and keep between 30 to 40 males at any given time.
I guess some people really like Bettas.

Baby betta at Petco is a good deal. And Petco actually usually has decent bettas, unlike the rest of their fish. I got one which I thought was female for awhile, but Im starting to think it is a male now. His fins are getting longer with beautiful white tips. Part of the fun is seeing how they turn out. The key is putting them in a tank with small, chill fish and preferably live food like pods or guppies or cherry shrimp (babies to eat). Baby betta needs to be treated the same as if you were breeding and raising your own babies.
