red tiger help

ive lost 2 in the last week and i think it is due to failed molts since i have not seen shells in some time from them. i dont know what to do to fix any probs.
parameters:
PH: 7
GH: 8
KH: 2
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: .5 ppm
temp:70

i have had them in lower ph and they didnt breed i moved them up to the 7 range was was getting some babies but then poof they all died. in the last couple months i have ended up losing 4 of them (adults) tank has bamboo tube for them to get in, 2 small bits of petrified wood, 1 a piece of drift wood with fissidens on it and a good clump of trident java fern, a sponge filter that the fissidens has decided to grow on and right now a small inturnal filter as well for more movement.

From what I have heard read and talked with people, red tigers are the hardest tiger to keep. The baby survival rate tends to be low. I would try and bring the gh down a little Do they have a good source of calcium. Might see if acidity dweller has some more of his roak left. Use a pinch full of the clay to every water change. That will add a good source of calcium to the tank for them to take in. Make sure you are feeding spinach or other veggies high in calcium.

How are your temps? Any signs of bacterial infection? What did the shrimp look like when it was dead? Cloudy? did it end up turning a bright pink or red in the head or body?

I use to have them in PH5.5 and they breed like crazy -all female have been berried every 35-40 day. Surviving rate was low thought. Babies were OK till 30-45 day after that they start to die. Red a lot of post that tigers like PH7 and up, so I made water PH7.
Shrimps start to die and no one gets berried for 4 months. Now they are in PH 6.3-6.5
They start to breed again and I can see some babies. The same story with BTOE and tangerine tigers.
I went down from 150 BTOE to 30-40 because of this PH move.
Now all my tigers are in PH6.3-6.5.

when i had mine in low ph i had tons of eggs but never any babies once i moved them to higher ph i had babies and then after about a month the babies went poof. as for the dead shrimp they looked like cooked shrimp. died over night im guessing and i was gone most of the day before i found the last one. no sign of infection. but just have not seen shells lately from molts. so im thinking it has to do with that. dont know how to lower the gh with out dropping the ph. my red tigers are the gold colored ones not the clear ones with red stripes. i only ended up with like 1 of those.

Yeah.... I would treat for bacterial infection... Your water seems good enought. I keep my oebt and BTOE in 6.8-7 GH 5 KH 1-2 TDS OEBT 180 TDS BTOE 190-205 Al breed like horny rabbits. Good baby survival, I dont think I lose any babies.... I feed stout, Bebi, and shield in the tanks for additives. I feed spinach 1 a week, mixed branded food once a week.

Yeah my red tigers died from a bacterial infection. I don't know how the germans do it but none of my tigers like water above ph 6.8

Germans have tigers on lock. They do great with them! I don't know how they mastered them but they do. They are killing it with tibee crosses too. They are the ones that came up with the pinto bee shrimp

Might buy some calcium montmorillonite, and add a pinch to the tank this will help with failed molts, feed spinach and kale
