55 gallon tank (Shark/barb)

This tank is not planted, although I am hoping on putting some plants into the tank eventually.

Fish:
2 Bala Sharks (1 ~5 inches, 1 ~3 inches)
1 Rainbow Shark
4 Tiger Barbs.

Filters:
AquaClear 50 power filter.
Tetra Whisper 10-30i

Substrate:
Gravel mixed with glass rocks. Planning on changing to some sand as soon as I can get to the store to buy some.

Decorations:
1 Algae covered skull head. Rainbow Shark's favorite place to hid (and only, I guess...)
1 "Bridge" like thing. It was my turtle's basking area when he was smaller. Also algae covered.
Some large and small fake plants.

Other:
Many small pond snails.
Two Ramshorn snails (hoping they will breed...)

Soon I will be adding two pictus catfish to the tank. They are about 4 inches in length. I hope I will be able to buy at least one more to help curve any aggression they may have.

Pictures soon! (I hope...)

Plans for tank stocking:
5 Bala Sharks
8+ Tiger Barbs
2 Pictus catfish
(and an upgrade to a 125 or larger tank. Must be 6 foot for balas, though.)

And, once I get the 125, this is going to become one of two things;
My painted turtle's tank.
A fantail goldfish tank.

We'll see though, after all
The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men,
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!

Translation for those who are struggling:
The best laid plans of mice and men
Go often a-stray (awry)
And leave us nothing but grief and pain,
For promised joy.

So true, so true:

Any important dates (fish additions, fish deaths, unusual things) will be in red.
Any unimportant updates will be in blue.

Dates will be added to the top of my posts.

Just spent the last 2 hours rinsing out some sand that I got today... Back breaking, frusterating work... I almost gave up half way though with the idea of starting again tomorrow, but then I realized that once I stopped I wouldn't start back up again. So, I kept pushing.

I filled up a 35 pound cat litter box (Tidy-Cats) (washed, of course) with 50 pounds (or so) of natural play sand.

Hopefully it will look nice when (if) I put it in tomorrow. Sigh, I think I'll just relax for a while. Good thing I took an hour long nap before, huh?
