Will I be ok with these snails
I have these malaysian trumpet snails & small ramhorn snails that I use to feed my pea puffers, well I decided to move the puffers thinking about turning the tank into a shrimp tank & was wondering should I worry about them at all with my current plant stock?
-Rotala indica -cardamine lycatra -anubias -java moss -water sprite -water wisteria |

You shouldn't have to worry, the ramshorns will only eat decaying plant material unless they are just starved and have nothing else to eat. The MTS will not hurt the plants unless they somehow disturb the substrate around the roots enough to uproot them but that hasnt happened to me and you would have to have a huge population for that to occur.
So in short, YES you will be fine. haha

Both are great snails. Just watch overfeeding or their population will explode...which in your case with puffers, might not be a bad thing. Otherwise, an assassin snail in the tank will help control the snail population.

I read somewhere that MTS shells can be so hard that they can hurt the puffers' beaks. Please be careful!

I think a lot of people crush them then feed.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip! I think I'll be ok though, these puffers don't attack the shell they stalk the snail & kind of just suck the meet out of them. It's pretty interesting watching a 1 inch fish stalk it's prey. As for them breeding, I don't mind at all. I'm sure the guy at my lfs is tired of me asking for 30 snails each time I visit them as they aren't in just one tank. LOL |

yeah mts not the best to feed puffers for sure. All those will do just fine in a shrimp tank!

Just a little update. The snails have been doing Great & any tiny amount of algae I see appear towards the end of the night are all gone in the morning! Now for the not so bad, They seem to like my Cardamine Lyrata & will leave holes in some of the leaves, I suppose it's because the leaves are real fragile, But it's no biggy as the plants grows pretty fast
