insides of aquarium heaters?


What is the meralic stuff in them, and is it bad for shrimp or fish....

The strip consists of two strips of different metals which expand at different rates as they are heated, usually steel and copper, or in some cases brass instead of copper.

I mean the metalic looking stuff that is loose in the heater. I do not think it is cooper...

If its the type that has the spiral heating element I believe its a nickel-chromium combo
