I used to have issues with algae with lights on for 8 hours Until I ran diy c02 & also had algae problems with just anubias & rotalla indica. Give it a shot. I now run the lights for 12-13 hours somewhat overkill & instead of dosing the 1 ml recommended for my tank size *8 gallon biocube* I dose 1.5 ml with no problems.

or a fast growing plant should help some, so far My fastest grower is Cardamine lyrata & water sprite they really do take off with new growth everyday, I plant some & float some
