How Old is your scape?

It seems like most aquascapers break down their original layouts and rescape their tanks within a year or two, possibly even less. My question is, does anyone on this forum keeps scapes that are more than 3 years old? Just curious. Pictures would be nice if possible.

I usually only keep the aquascapes in my high light aquarium for 2-3 months before changing it around (I usually get bored).

Either that, or a carpet grows so dense, that I end up having to rip it all up and replanting all the individual stems (in the case of Hemianthus callitrichoides), and take the opportunity to rework my entire aquarium anyway.

My turbo minerals kittylitter gravel toped scape has about 2 years now and by the dead of the Dwarf Hairgrass, Hydrocotyle leucocephala and some cryptocoryne melting ( I changed the lights :P ) i had to make some changes ....

I usually keep my scapes for a few months, then completely re-do them, usually to give myself something to do and i get bored of the layout i have, i'm soon doing a new scape on my 40 and the current one i have is only a month old, i mainly change when i want something fresh

I'm just the opposite. I have low light/low tech tanks, so it takes forever for growth to fill in - that's just how I like it. I find it very serene and relaxing to sit back & watch the tank mature at a slow rate. So my tanks, once built, stay as a they are. I have a 125 that I just started last summer, and a 29 about a year or so old. I imagine they will be a work in progress for some time, as I slowly add plants as I can afford to. Then I'll leave them be as long as conditions allow.

Very interesting thread. I just set my tank up, and I'm wanting to let it grow and mature for several years. I'd like to hear from some with experience in this area of longevity. Pictures would be nice also!
