Cyanobacteria - 3 days dark + erythromycin = too much?
Sup!
So I want to get rid of my cyanobacteria (I don't have a pic, but I'm finishing up my B.S. in biochem and can confirm that it is what it is), and I was thinking: three days dark and erythromycin would be the perfect storm. I should mention that I have red cherry shrimp coming in a few days. I don't want my good bac. levels to fall too hard before I put them in, but I really wanna get rid of this stuff, it is spreading fast. Thoughts? Comments? Other things related to this? |

If you use the EM, no need for the Blackout.
Add KNO3 more in the future however.

You could try both, but do not overdose on the EM. Just the package directions.
As Tom suggests, look into the cause. Even if you do knock it down, more Cyanobacteria will find the tank if the conditions remain conducive to its growth. |
