Colormax by Coralife

Hi, I am currently using CFL bulbs in my 35G planted hex. I am not happy with the color of the fish but happy with the plant growth. Recently a friend told me about Coralife Colormax bulbs. I am looking at maybe using the two different bulbs the Regular Colormax Mini and the 50/50 Mini. I was hoping to find someone who has used these bulbs before I invest money into them. Can anyone out there help? Thanks

I haven't used the Colormax but I do run the 10,000K Coralife (full spectrum), Actinic Coralife (blue), and Flora Sun Zoo Med (red) in my 48" Coralife light. They make the fish and tank look amazing.

I have a dual t5 fixture with a colormax and a 6500K bulb. Overall it is a nice combo. Reds are really nice and blues are ok.

As mentioned, the reds are good, the PAr is less than what you might think compared to say a GE starcoat.

But when mixed with a blue bulb and a white, it makes a nice color mixture.
If you like red plants, then a few will help reflect the red color.

I have some Red Belly Swords that would benefit from the Red light. Thank you all for the advice. I am considering a DIY lighting system. I hate how my system now just turns on, the poor flying fox turns white from shock. Maybe I will try mixing the different Coralife bulbs. I have two GBR's and their color shows up great on digital camera but the naked eye does not pick up the color as well, maybe the proper lighting will help.
