Do you think the noise will keep you up at night?

I dont think so, i have had tanks in my room in the past, and im a fan of ambient noise. its like a couple hundred dollar cd of "sounds of a babbling brook"
Yessir! That's what it is, and i like it quite a bit. |

Are you going to use a canister filter for a more silent sound? Or since your a fan of ambient noise, you'll go for the soothing sounds of water trickling down from an HOB? LOL

For filtration i was planning on an Eheim 2213. I have the 2215 and 2217 running on other tanks, and IME you cant go wrong with them. HOBs always end up going from trickling to rattly for me.

For hardscape i was thinking of a rock formation like this:
![]() ![]() ![]() @kribkeeper888: Can you elaborate on the methodology behind a straight substrate line? I am back and forth between a sloping hill(pictured in my second post) or a straight slanted line in front (pictured above) and appreciate any recommendations. Umm, that wasn't me who suggested that. I like the more aggressive slope in the second set. As for rattling HOB's... I know what you mean.

I just ment at the front of the tank keep it straight across and slope from there.
