I stopped by the flagship 14st petco today also. Picked up a2 assasin snails and an Otto. The Otto is already dead. I had a feeling that would happen. My fault. They didn't look all that healthy. But I always think.... "They will be much better off in my tank." Nope! >:-(

Funny you say that. I usually do. And my Otto in my tank gallon has been going strong for at least 4 or 5 months. They always have healthy stock and cheAp! There is one by my moms in sheepshead bay. But haven't had the chance to go.maybe this weekend.

They have good oto's at PetSmart in the Green Acres mall. And you shouldn't have oto's by themselves! |

The best Otto survival rates I've had are from Petsmart in Noho and Pacific (though, they get the occasional crappy shipment)

I haven't been there in a while and I live right off the Cross Island Pkwy. Did they have any decent dragonscale bettas?

Sorry Monster, I don't really know anything about Bettas, so when I go there I don't normally look at them, nor would I probably even know what I was looking at.
Maybe one day we should have people meet up there as they have a pretty good selection, and can take a ride down the block to the giant Petco that's also in the mall area. |

I think we should do a tour of the LI fish stores someday. There's some decent spots in Nassau and Suffolk.

Really? That's interesting to know. I only ever go to the Petsmart and Petco when I'm out there.

Yup. Here's a few that I've been to that I go back to when I feel like driving out into the island.
Pets Warehouse (Carle Place, NY) - Lot's of different livestock and decent prices on equipment and supplies. Aqua Hut (Coram, NY) - Healthy, cheap livestock, great prices on equipment and supplies. Country Critters (Patchouge, NY) - Higher prices but they have some rare livestock. They have an indoor pond with full grown pacus, tiger shovelnose cats, red tail cats, and arapaimas. You can pay 25 cents to toss food to them! Magic Isle Aquarium (Centereach, NY) - Prices are a bit high but from time to time, they have interesting and rare species.
