40 Gallon Breeder

I got a 40 Breeder back in June at the Petco $1/gallon sale. I set it up about a month ago, and it's doing well. There's some algae, but I'm adjusting my light timers and am planning on getting either ottos, a SAE, or some amano shrimp as the final inhabitants now that I have a good food base for them.

So, hardware:
40 gallon breeder tank
DIY stand
2 100 watt daylight bulbs in clamp lights
1 POS on it's last legs 30" tube that I just use for display lighting
150 watt Seachem heater
Aquaclear 300
40 lbs Flourite
15 lbs pea gravel
Malaysian bogwood
terra cotta flower pots

Stock:
1 male betta
8 Corydoras trilineaus
7 glowlight tetras
1 clown pleco
5 mystery snails
4 zebra nerites
1 red onion nerite
??? small number of pond snails
wisteria
Anubias barteri
Anubias coffefolia
java fern
American val

Video time!

The right side looks nice, but those pots make me cringe. Loving the anubias and driftwood though!

I agree

The right side looks good and than the when you see the pots they stand out and it just doesn't flow but that's just my 2 cents.

Yeah, the pots are a temporary thing. I'm going to be moving in about four months, and when I re-set the tank up at my new place, I'm switching to sand (or something not Flourite), because I'm not sold on the look of the gravel Flourite mix at the moment.

I also found duckweed growing, which I actually like, because the betta likes it. Also, I may take out the wisteria completely, because it is getting some super nasty algae that I can't seem to get rid of and is dying because of that. I may go for some vals in that corner and java fern on the middle bogwood.

If you get rid of the Wisteria, I would TOTALLY take those off your hands, algae and all.

I can't wait to see this after the re-design!
