**FREE Freshwater Shrimp Presentation by Waylon Pon** - Presented by GSAS

The Greater Seattle Aquarium Society (GSAS) is pleased to sponsor a free presentation about freshwater shrimp by Wayon Pon, Vice-President of the San Francisco Aquarium Society. Keeping freshwater shrimps is becoming the fastest growing segment of the tropical fish hobby. Freshwater shrimp are colorful, can be kept by themselves, or as a part of a nano community tank. They have very modest requirements and can be bred successfully in home aquariums. However, they can be delicate if certain basic requirements are not attended to. The learning curve can be steep and expensive. Waylon has been keeping and breeding various shrimp species for several years. He will summarize his successes as well as scars to help you enjoy your journey with shrimps.

Waylon has seen his hobby grown substantially during the past few years. Last year, he built a fishroom from the ground up and now operates over 40 aquariums totaling over 1,000 gallons. While he loves breeding many types of tropical fish, he specializes in corydoras and many varieties of freshwater shrimp.

The lecture will be Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 at 7:30PM at Seattle Pacific University; Otto Miller Hall; Room 109; West Nickerson Street and 3rd Avenue West

Doors will open around 7:10PM; the meeting will start at about 7:30PM

The lecture will be followed by a short auction

Open to the public, no entrance fee

Family friendly but no childcare provided
Free parking, accessible building
No furry or feathered pets

Tuesday, October 9th is just around the corner! If you keep freshwater shrimp or have wanted to learn more about keeping these fun and fascinating creatures don't miss out! Shrimp are great in Nano tanks too!

Next Tuesday night Waylon Pon from the San Francisco Aquarium Society is doing his presentation on Freshwater Shrimp! And I hear he is bringing some shrimp species up for our 'mini-auction'.......don't miss out!
