If you're telling me that Samsung didn't entirely design their devices to look like apple products, then your argument can stop here. They've admitted it. Courts have decided it. They are copying what apple is putting out there. Quote:
The iphone 5 doesn't have to be better than every phone. If your goal is to produce the "best" phone, you'll have another android phone. And in three weeks there be another. And in 6 months they'll stop making updates for your product. In a year, it'll be unable to run half of the apps efficiently. Steve Jobs didn't evolve. He was adamant and static. He stuck to his guns. Form AND function. You can say they're going to tank all you want.... but Apple has been steadily increasing in value for 20 years. If you can't see what the business world sees, I'm not sure what to say. Their business model obviously works. Their design model obviously works. Everyone is copying it in one way or another. Apple took mobile devices past the gadget in your pocket stage to the accessory in your hand. You might not think you care about things like that, but everyone does in one way or another. |

Btw, I had to come back to this statement. You're joking right?
This is a publicly traded company. Their sole purpose is to make money. WTH are they supposed to focus on? I can't even wrap my head around this. They have CREATED a design element. The clean apple form is now copied into TONS of completely unrelated things. Home decor. Cars. Every single market is influenced by this. If a company I held shares in wasn't primarily focused on making a profit, I'd start finding other places to invest. |

I could never justify the extra cost of an apple product. Until I bought one.
It amazes me how many apple haters out there have never owned an apple product. Don't have an iphone. Yet.

Apple really does make nice things. When I compare my iPhone with my fiance's Android phone, I can tell its better made. Same thing when I compare my iPad to my HP Touchpad, or a MacBook to my plasticky Dell laptop. I don't like Macs due to price and, well, I didn't like using them, but the quality is top notch, they're really not cheaply made at all. I think it was Vizio that created a line of computers resembling the iMac. While I can't afford an iMac (nor do I want one) the Vizios got my attention - sleek looks at a Walmart price? Interesting stuff. I still love my Dell XPS though, even though the cheap plastic lid is all scratched up and it weighs a ton :p
I love the MacBook Air's design (but they're waaay overpriced!) - so minimal and clean, and now look at all the sleek copycat ultrabooks! Even the packaging for my iPad's Smart Cover was well thought out.

Apple was the first to submit a ban list of 10+ Samsung phones because they fear losing the market. Its only fair that the other companies fight back with counter suits. Apple might win but it's the consumers that will lose in the end. If I comeback to the states next I want to get the phone I want. One company can't control the whole market, it's illegal. If they want to sue fine, 1 billion is nothing for Samsung but dont stop others from buying other phones.

The battle between Motorola Mobility and Apple started in 2010. Jobs actually despised many of his opponents. With a deep passion. Wouldn't speak to them. He was behind the reins with a lot of these suits started. This isn't unique to apple. This is what big tech companies do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smartphone_wars Brand protection is an investment. Nonetheless, to say they are going in the ruins is nonsense. |

I will admit to one caveat of my iPhone 5. The stinking new connector. I bought a cheapy adapter from ebay - thankfully just $10, but still! - and now see that there's a little chip that the knock-offs won't have, so they won't work. I'll use it as a guitar pick for the guitar I don't have.
Luckily, my Flexsmart bluetooth adapter in the car has a USB slot for charging, so I can connect the new cable that came with the phone to that. However, for some reason, my phone will now not pair with the Flexsmart via bluetooth. My 4 did, no problem. At least I can use the aux out instead - sounds better anyways :P All in all, I still love it, even though I did think Apple is a sneaky @#$! for doing that. They should've included an adapter, the jerks. (I know, I know, then they would lose $$$$$$$$ in $30 adapters :P). So, no, the kool-aid has not clouded my judgement so that I think the 5 is all puppies and rainbows, but, nothing is perfect.

I've had android phones for quite some time now. Bought my own, as well as always having the latest greatest model provided through work. So basically I would carry around two androids. The things that really bug me about android OS are random bugs. Some examples would be: taking forever to respond when trying to accomplish something, or not responding at all, rebooting all by itself, not being able to answer calls because the phone freezes, and other minor irritating things. So my contract was up on my personal phone and said what the hell, I'll try out this new iPhone. Mind you I'm referring to the 4s and this was last year. All I can say is that iOS is very stable. I still have the android for work, i just prefer the iPhone. As far as tablets go, I've tried many and always scoffed at people with their overpriced iPads. That is until I bought one.
