Dual 6.6 Bookshelf Betta Tanks

We're currently a four betta household, and I decided a couple weeks ago to get two of the Petco bookshelf tanks for two of them after seeing so many threads for them on here. I actually got them set up last week so there aren't going to be any setup pictures or progress. This will be more for keeping track of plant growth, algae issues, etc.

Notes: Vals are melting. Hopefully they'll grow back quickly. Not sure if it's because of moving to a new tank or the bleach dip. The hydrocotyle is already growing new leaves, and much smaller than the old ones. Probably because of the higher light in this tank than the one it was in.

Notes: Not much going on in this one yet. A little melt on the the lutea. Some fungus growing on the DW. The pinwheel sword (back right corner) is pretty pathetic. If it doesn't do something in the next couple weeks I'll replace it with another crypt wendtii.

The shelf this tank is sitting on is crooked, which is driving me crazy. I'm going to try to fix it when I do the first big water change. It's one of those shelves like everyone uses for shrimp racks, only smaller, and the one corner "bracket" slipped. Probably when I was trying to push the top rim on the tank. This one didn't want to go on for some reason.

The first tank has pa hai stone and the second has yamaya. Both from Aqua Forest Aquarium.

Notes: Currently going through an ugly phase. Diatoms started growing as well as some filamentous algae. Vals completely melted, but they are starting to grow back. I did some maintenance today and was able to suck out most of the algae as well as the melted leaves. Added a half dozen ramshorns. They are currently working on the diatoms. Also added a betta (Sprinkles) since it was fully cycled.

Notes: This tank is still looking pretty good, but it's also almost a week newer. Expecting the diatoms to show up sometime this week. A ton of baby pond snails hatched last week so my dwarf puffer is the temporary resident. Hopefully he takes care of them before the diatoms show up so I can pull him out and add some ramshorns. The fungus that was growing on the driftwood is gone. Only noticeable growth so far is the hygro kompact. Will probably end up moving the hygro where that sword is since it's still not doing anything. A little bit of crypt melt, but not bad.

Looking good! Long tanks are hard for me to scape but looks like you've got it down pat!

looks amazing! very cool little betta tanks for sure. i'll be doing a bleach dip on some plants here soon myself, so hopefully i don't ge the melting as well
