ADA Mini L 2.0

I'v been playing with a few scapes trying to figure out what I want to do for Version 2.0 of this tank. The old thread can be found here

I have lots of rocks and Tom Barr is down the street for all the wood I could want. I think I want to do a rock only scape this time and keep it simple with just HC. I'm sure this will change, but that's the idea.

Here a the latest two scape I came up with.

The 1st idea was a big mound with pointed rock sticking out all around the mound. HC would fill in between so use your imagination. I liked this at 1st, but as it sat for a few days it stopped growing on me.

I like where this is going. Will it just be HC?

The next scape was a BIG slope with rocks protruding only showing the "face" of the rock. Think Mount Rushmore-ish. This scape is growing on me each day, but I think it needs a few tweaks? Again HC would fill in between and maybe something else on the top of the slope?

That's the idea, but I never stick to it . Maybe a stem plant like blyxa for a background or r. butterfly for some color. As you can see I have no idea what I want to do.

I think the middle rock on the bottom should be pointing in a similar direction as the rest of the stones. I know iwagumi doesn't promote having all the rocks facing one way but I think it would aid in the flow of your scape.

I like the second scape a lot. I think it would be cool to put a big colorful crypt at the very top so it can look similar to a tree, and maybe even poke out of the water, and then HC everywhere else. if you could get your hands on crypt flamingo, the metallic red, or petchii "pink"

I like both scapes! Very nice. What kind of rocks are those?

If I'm understanding your suggestion correctly, that rock laying down is more of a support rock to hold the slope up than anything else. It will get lost in the HC ones it fills in. It's the bottom rocks I'm not 100% on. Thanks for the idea thought. Maybe a different rock should be used?

Thanks, but you have to choose one, I can't do both .

They were sold to me as Canadian black coastal rock from a person we (TPT) are glad is no longer around.

Okay, I guess my vote is for scape 2. It accentuates the shapes and textures of the rocks a bit more. Plus once planted, I think it'll look pretty good!

I'm a fan of both scapes. Though, in the first I'd consider E. belem. HC in the second scape will look great - nice and dramatic with the rock work.

The first scape is cool but I am loving the second one.

I will plant scape #2 this weekend. I have the HC ready to go. I'll post pictures after it's planted.

apparently I need to make friends with someone on the canadian coast :-P Nice rock and excellent layouts. If I were to decide, I'd go with the first layout.
