So today i picked up a co2 setup today from JHunt payment sent!! cant wait!!
anyways its a " never (been) used ProStar Platinum Model PRSP5013 dual stage regulator with a chrome CGA 320 nut and nipple... a Burkett 6011 solenoid valve, Fabco NV-55 needle valve, JBJ bubble counter with integrated check valve, and a stainless steel check valve. But wait, there's more! Also comes with a GLA in-line CO2 atomizer sized for 1/2" tubing and a Gush glass ball drop checker with 250mL of 4 dKH standard from GLA" sounded like a deal to mE! http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=193750 |

well the regulator and accessories arrived but theres only one little problem.. the atomizer is going to restrict the flow on the fluval 406 i have so id like to get the 3/4' model just for ease of use and flow.
besides that i just need a part to connect the regulator to the solenoid rig and a tank from a local source. pretty excited about doing a well planned setup. trying to do everything right the first or maybe 2nd time |

so there has been some algea groath in the meantime of me getting the regulator and tank mated.. looks liek some black spot and black brush type of nasty stuff. so i think once i get a few more utility fish for my reef tank ill be making a shoping list to get the pressurized co2 system running..
first thing i think of is the part i need to connect the regulator to the silonoid, bubble counter rig.. should i get this at a hardware store like the depot? or try to pick it up when i go to get my tank at the co2 center brass im assuming? or stainless? the next issue is the method to desolve the gas into the water.. i have a in-line atomizer i can hook to the output side of my fluval 406 but it will restrict flow slightly.. BUT they do sell the correct size for the fluval hosing. So would this restrict flow enough to worry about? also i will likely get some clear hose to clean everything up some and get rid of the junk catching corigated black fluval hoses.. from there.. i think its just assembly and settup.. i was planning to wait to hook the co2 up till i had everything in the good substrate and a perfect scratchless tank.. but i will be doing this basicly ASAP to fight the BBA!! please any advice will be golden for me at this point where im about to no doubt make some mistakes.. thanks!! |

Much over due photo update on the 75. Still haven't got everything together for the co2 to run so I can turn on the sun!! Anyway here's a few pics.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() About to continue on the same plan of reducing 90% of the population of livebarers and get a few more loaches and Cory cats. Replacing the gravel with Eco-complete and fluorite, hooking up the co2 regulator and in-line defuser, an additional fluval 406, and a power head for extra flow. This should allow me to re-introduce my mid day lights and get some serious growth.. I guess my dream of a new shiny 90g is out of the picture for now. Wish me luck!! |
