28g Bow Front

Well I am making a switch from salt to freshwater. I want a tank with some fish now! I have done a few nano reef tanks and have all of my equipment from them.

The equipment i have/intend to use:
*Tank is 24"LX 12"-15"WX 18"T
* flourite (red)
*Rena Filstar XP3
*Hydor 200w inline heater
And that sums up what i have as sure things

The tank came with the single t8 bulb fixture that the previous owner claimed plant growth from.
My 2 light choices that i own is the single t8 fixture or i have a Current Sundial 150W metalhalide with 2 36w power compact lights lights. Which setup should i run or should i sell and buy something else? I want to eventually get to high light and co2.
Options? Anything else i ahould look at before setup?

Well have decided on the metal halide setup. For now i will pick up daylight power compact bulbs and see what i can do. My tank has a very thick brace in the middle of the tank. Maybe run the MH like 3 feet above the tank. Gonna pick up new tubing for my filter and another bag of flourite.

Should i wait to start till after i have a co2 setup and then just fill the tank with plants from the get go?

so i picked up another bag of flourite and ordered my replacement hose for the filter.

So i will be ready for water once i figure out a co2 setup. I have a budget of 150 for everything. Pointers?

Well have my co2 setup going. GLA 65mm diffuser and Milwaukee regulator.

Still having terrible luck with the dwarf hair grass. Been planted for 3-4 weeks with no growth but not dying either. Still not dosing full fertz. Dosing excel daily and aquAvitro envy and propel every other day.

Well been a lil while on the update. Tank has been upgraded and looks substantially better in my opinion.

Meet the 54g corner tank! My light ended up being a perfect light for the tank and the rest of my equipment is perfect for the size.

Tank sitting right beside my bed. Perfect fit!

Light hung and tank filling up!

Tank filled and filter plumbed and installed!

My dog enjoying the new view!

FTS as of 12/30/13! Figuring out which carpeting plant will be dominant! I have dwarf hair grass, baby dwarf tears, and what my lfs calls star grass. The star grass is a stem plant that likes to be mowed down short and looks pretty good short. Almost like micro swords or downoi. Then I have lots of stem plays to choose from for final back ground and mid ground plants along with a couple crypts.
