Padding under rocks???
I am planning an aquascape for a 20 gallon Tall tank. This is my first planted tank. I have some larger rocks 8-10 inches by 6 inches and I was wondering if I need to have any padding like egg crate under them to protect the bottom of the tank. I think I read that somewhere that some people do this but I don't remember where. My plan for the tank is to do a dirted tank 1 in MGOPS with a 1 in gravel cap).
Does anyone put anything under larger rocks? Thank you. |

Alot of cichlid keepers use the egg crates due to some cichlids being diggers. It truly isnt necessary unless you just want the piece of mind. I have whole piles of rocks sitting directly on the bottom glass without any issue.
