Perpetual Motion

I have been doing some reading on perpetual motion. I don't know why. I do find it very interesting. I just wanted to post some links to things that might interest you.

So far I have looked at Heron's Fountain which is not actually perpetual but I found it very interesting.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heron's_fountain

I also saw a video of a cool one that some guy had but I can't find it. I just made a quick (not really good) sketch of the fountain on MS paint.

You do know that perpetual motion can never be achieved right?

***unless you're moving in vacuum space without hitting anything.

The drawing defies the principles of gravity. Just think of syphoning.

Perpetual motion could work if friction, voltage loss, etc didn't exist. Unfortunately they do. A couple of months ago on FB I met up with an old friend from my youth. He reminded me of all the different designs we tried for PM.

Here's a couple of cool videos:

That second link is very cool. I watched it all the way though, and designed the next step(s) in my head. By the end I had a very close idea to what they used.

Not only because of friction but transference energy as well like if the machine makes noises. Kinetic Energy in transferred into sound energy and is lost into space.
