Really? While not fully 30", my bulbs are definitely longer than 24".

At 28", that means there's a 1" gap on both ends of my 30" tank. That 1" gap on both ends is perfect since I really don't want the bulbs shining on the edges of the tank itself.

Make sure you get the Coralife marked for "Freshwater". That's the exact fixture I'm using (I actually have three of them). I very much recommend this fixture.

This is for saltwater and reef tanks. It's the same fixture as the one below, but with different bulbs so you'd have to replace the bulbs for a planted tank. Don't get this one.

Thanks Complexity. - This helps me as well out a fixture for my 20L also. I have a few questions because the amazon add doesn't say much...

What type of bulbs come with this fixture? watt K rating etc. - Some guy commented on a review "This particular fixture comes with the 10,000k and a 6700k bulbs" is this true?

Does this fixture have legs or do I need to hang mount from the ceiling?

It looks like a 6,700k and Colormax bulb.

Others have noted the bulbs, but here's also the watt info:

18 watt ColorMax full-spectrum T5NO fluorescent lamp
18 watt 6700K plant T5NO fluorescent lamp

The fixture is designed to sit directly on top of the tank. It only has small wire extensions on the sides that slide out so you can rest the fixture across the length of the tank. The fixture on one of my 29g tanks uses these extensions since the tank is open top (I have a canopy over the tank and light) while the other 29g sits on top of the glass versa-top lid. If you'd prefer to hang it from the ceiling, it would probably be pretty easy to drill the casing to add eye screws for hanging.
