The star moss and fissdens didn't make it; however, this tank has been doing very well.

I HAVE FINALLY GOTTEN A HANDLE ON THE ALGAE.

I have to say this good feeling because I worked hard to get my tanks balanced and another tank of mine didn't make it but this tank did! The feeling of accomplishment!

The Christmas moss wall in the back is starting to fill in nicely as well as my moss cascade off the HOB on the left.

I've added some Frogbit, Water Lettuce, HC, Rotala Colorata, and moved the Water Lily and some Dwarf Sag.

This picture is not the best but you get the idea of how things are coming along.

Thanks for looking and stay tuned in!

My platy's were celebrating the miracle of Christmas this week by creating their own little presents.

I've always has a problem with wasted co2 on my 20L. With 2 HOB filters, there is a lot of surface agitation which releases all my co2 out of the tank. I have to crank the co2 to over 4bps to get the drop checker green.

Now, how that I have recently purchased an Eheim 2213 canister I'm think I build a reactor and be ride of at least one of my HOB filters.

I'm going to go for option 2. Looks sleeker and seems like it would diffuse the Co2 better. I'm familiar with using PVC and I already have all the bio-balls I'll need from my Biocube.

My only concern is the reduction in flow. I could get another pump to move the water, but then I'll have to add another intake in the aquarium. I think I'll take my changes and see how it works inline with my Ehiem.

I've seen many different options through simple research. I wonder what is going to work the best for my setup.

Here is another option:

I found the hideout!

The fry have been hiding behind the moss wall.

I've seen 2 in total so far.

You could run the 2213 solo on this tank.

I setup the Ista Max Mix Co2 Reactor today with the Ehiem 2213 Canister.

Flow seems to be okay so far.

Default Picture Update

This tank is really doing well. It is by far the most success I've ever has in this hobby. I enjoy watching this tank evolve over time.

See Pictures...

Forgbit / Water Lettuce
I really enjoy the floating plants; however, I have to be patient with them because they stick to my arms every time I go inside the tank. They are worth it though because I think they really help balance the tank and I like watching them move around and around across the surface of the water.

Dwarf Sag
This is a really hardy plant and does really well in this tank too. I like watching the new sprouts come up one after another. This stuff is hardy and can take a beating too!

HC
I took the HC out because it was growing up rather than across and it would float all over the place. I figure this was due to the low/medium light. I don't mind taking it out because I have another tank with HC as the carpet. I can enjoy my HC carpet plants in high light there.

Rotala Colorata
I removed this plant because it wasn't doing well. When I did get it growing alright, I had a hard time getting it red/pink. Anyways, since this is a medium/lower light tank I figure that I'm better off without it. I grew it for a short while in my other tank highlight tank it grew fast and red.

Ludwigia Arcuata
I removed most of this plant as well. It does okay but not as well and I would like. It's a beautiful plant and one of the first plants I have even grown. Maybe I just need to find a better spot for it...

Bacopa Caroliniana
This plant has really taken off. Can't find it? That because it is hiding the back right corner. It's a slow grower but stays nice thick and lush. I love it.

I don't have time to write about everything in this tank so I won't but I want to quick stay something about a few other tank mates. The RCS are doing fine but they are not multiplying due to the presence of Platy's and my water conditions. The Pleco is right as home and loves to take over the tank as night. I can only seem to keep 2 Ottos alive in this tank and for some reason whenever I add more they just die in the next few days.

I've been thinking about breeding different kinds of Platy's because they are easy and fun. I saw some Panda platy's at the store and another type that was cool.

Thanks for looking. Please comment...

Congrats on the success! I think this tank is looking good, makes wish I had derimmed my 20L. Any updates on the moss wall or your planted HOB?

Sorry people I just bought a new house and I have been very busy for the last 2 months or so.

Tank transferred to the new house smoothly, but have been neglected for a long time. No dosing but Co2 stable. Some plants lost their leaved.

The moss all a growing in slowly but not as thick as I would like it to be.

The moss falls is doing great though. It is thick full and there is some type of plant flowering purple flowers at the top.
