ADA 60p, "spirit dweller's home" + munny wabi-kusa build thread

TANK:ADA 60P
LIGHT: MH 70w 6700k
SUBSTRATE: ADA aquasoil powder and normal, powersand special 's'
LAYOUT MATERIAL: seiryu stone
FILTER: eheim 2215 canister filter, DO!aqua lilypipes
CO2: 5lb tank, with dual gauge regulator, drop checker, knock-off everything lol
FLORA: glosso, DHG, nesea triflora, ludwigia arcuata, rotala sp. green, bacopa australis, limnophila sp. "vietnam", downoi, possibly rotala sp. 'yao yai', for now.
FAUNA: Thai micro crabs, amanos, pair of GBR
STAND: DIY ADA stand using plywood and laminate.

my inspiration is coming from princess mononoke when he was dipped into the river. maybe ill look for a picture later on. i have to make this tank awesome to because my parents are enforcing the rule of 1 tank at a time

hopefully ill be able to keep this thread alive because i'm starting Highschool and I don't know how bad the transition will be. also I apologize for poor typing and layout, i'm no good at this stuff.

sounds interesting.

if you want lines imbetween the pics, you cant attach them. you need to upload them to an image hosting site, like photobucket and use the img code [img] and [(slash)img]
(slash) = /
if i put the slash, the server would read it as an image with a faulty link.

UPDATE: i ordered the ADA 60-p! Im super excited. Next order of business is to sell off everything from my 10g setup. Maybe ill derim the tank and turn the tank into an emmersed setup.

60P came! wow this is the nicest aquarium I have ever seen. even comes with a fancy yet kind of pointless catalog
also got my new used 70w MH light from Chadly. might need to get a new bulb for it though. hopefully I can make some headway on the stand now.

I like your inspiration. The backgrounds for the ghibli films are just amazing. What are you planning to do with the munny? I hear they aren't exactly cheap. as someone who's about to leave HS behind for good, good luck in school. if you're a freshman, appreciate it while you can, it only gets harder. But it also gets a lot more interesting.

Ya ghibli is just incredible. i love their movies. Ya munny's are like 30 bucks a piece but i enjoy art so i thought i should invest. I want to put a wabi- kusa in the head and grow it out, maybe put a ADA symbol on the head but im throwing all my money into the 60-p right now so we will see were it goes.
Ya i im taking AP already so i should not be fun. But my motivation is more money for aquariums later

UPDATE:
got a hydro 200w heater, and hooked up my light. also ordered seiryu stone from PC1.
On another note, I have torn down my 10g and de-rimmed it, today ill proceed to get the residue off. Everything is slowly coming together!
The munny wabi-kusa is going to have to stay on hold for awhile, but i plan to have some stems on the top and HC around it.

Sounds cool. Actually, APs tend to be much more enjoyable because the teachers actually are interested in what they teach and tend to have higher degrees. At least at my school.

if you're into anime movies w/ good art, check out Paprika or something by Makoto Shinkai.

yep so far my AP science teach has been great, but he has a 55g with a bass, sunfish, and what started out as around 50 minnow to 30. he cycled the tank for like 3 days . thanks for the move recommendation, I have yet to see that.

60P UPDATE:
got some seiryu stone, shout out to pc1.
and......im building the stand this weekend! that means i can start ordering all the stuff I need from ADA. And the best part......its gonna have hidden wheels

Oh, and if i have a 70w MH with 6500k how high above the tank does it have to be? I want it to be as hightech as possible, anybody with a simmilar light and situation chime in

I have a 70W Fishneedit Metal Halide 8K Hanging about 12" from the surface of the water. Everything seems to be growing just fine with it. The build is looking good. Good luck!!

The stand is complete!
I just need laminate! :P
Ill be using the gray part set for co2 and stainless steal pipes, so its your last chance to vote! So far It looks like black is ahead.
Ill try and post pics of the tank on the un-laminated stand tonight.
