Well, decided to finally spend the money and get started the right way. Finally got an RODI system and a proper water conditioner.

Tank:
Standard 20G Long

2x Tetra Air Pumps
2x Double-head sponge filters
Hydro Sponge Filter
Sunsun 302 Canister Filter
DIY CFL Bulb Fixture (saving up for a Finnex Fugeray)

Plants:
I think Mini Rose moss
Java moss
Notochypus lutecens
Clump mix of java, x-mas, taiwan, and willow moss
Dwarf Sag
Salvinia Minima

Fauna:
Soon to be S-SS CRS
Possibly some type of Neo, leaning on Blue Diamonds for contrast against the red/white.

Got my RODI system for $68 shipped from purewaterclub and am using Salty Shrimp GH+.

Gonna wipe down the hard water stains on the back-glass and get a black background. Waiting for some SS mesh from Han to get that huge clump of ugly in the center more organized.

Thought I should start a log of my water parameters, too:

Got 8 CRS for a good price to test out my parameters before buying from Nick. Also received the SS mesh from Han. Going for a simple shrimp tank set up.

I found a blue guy in the bag of CRS and messaged the person I bought them from, said it is a blue rili. Doesn't really look like one to me.?

Was the RO system OK? I'm thinking about ordering cuz of the cheap price but they have some nasty reviews.

Mine is working fine. 0 TDS out of the system and no leaks.

Thanks! Seems that all have survived over night so hopefully things continue to get better than my past experiences! If all goes well, I'll be getting more from Nick very very soon.

Yup, although I do have to test the GPD claims. Still have to get bigger water buckets to get an estimate of waste water:pure water ratio. Shout out to Hedge_fund for solidifying my decision on that unit, as well!

Keep in mind that for ANY ro system, water pressure plays a huge roll in gpd and waste/efficiency ratio, you might want to add an inline pressure meter.

Installed right before the DI membrane to have an idea of when your filters will need to be replace (dirty or clogged filters will cause significant pressure loss).

The ideal pressure after the after the prefilters/carbon and before the DI membrane should be between 55~80 psi.
