Jay's planted 180g tank

I guess I will introduce my tank. This tank has gone through good and bad over the last few years but I'll start with my most recent attempt. This effort started back this past Dec. so it's officially 7 months now and been on cruise control for 2 or 3 months.

FTS

Tank = standard 180g 72x24x24
Lights = four 80w T5H0 staggered to cover end to end (7hrs)
Co2 = pressurized Co2 injection with inline Atomizer on a ph controller
Fauna = Columbian Tetras, Cory Sterbai, SAE, Otos, Apistos,
Other = Fluval 404, sump, inline heater
Flora =
Alternanthera reineckii
Anubias nana
Anubias nana petite
Blxya japonica
Bolbitis heudelotii
Bolbitis heudelotii mini
Cryptocoryne parva
Cryptocoryne spiralis
Cryptocoryne wendtii green gecko
Cryptocoryne wendtii green
Cryptocoryne wendtii red
Cyperus helferi
Echinorodus compacta
Hygrophila corymbosa
Hygrophila pinnatifida
Limnophila aromatica
Lobelia cardinalis
Ludwigia glandulosa
Proserpinaca palustris
Vallisneria americana
Bucephalandra brownie ghost
Bucephalandra brownie blue
Bucephalandra brownie purple
Bucephalandra brownie red
Bucephalandra sekudua

I'm still trying to figure out what I want on the left side but I'm pretty satisfied with the rest of the layout. I don't put much effort into aquascaping rules just what appeals to my eye.

What a fantastic looking tank!

Where is the L glandosa? Is it the red plant in back or the stems in the mid-ground area

This is a video which may give you a better idea of depth. I tried to create interest with the driftwood and rocks creating tunnels and pass through where the fish can pop up and hide. There's also enough density in the plants that Columbian Tetra fry are surviving. (have 2 babies in there now)

FYI, I mute the mic to avoid screaming kids and background noise.

Thank you.

The L glandulosa is just left of center as a midground. It is a little more difficult to manage than I expected because it just grows wild and all over the place. I was expecting it to grow straight up.

Mine is the same way in two different tanks. I can turn it a deep, rich red. Getting it to grow like I want is a whole different story though, haha

Very true drives me nuts so I've come to terms with letting it grow wild hacking it and starting over.

Very nice tank.

The Colombian tetras look really nice in there. How many do you have?
