23W PAR38 CFL for 48x24x22 100G custom tank

So...

I've been stalking the pages of these forum for weeks now and I've only decided to register now. Such a wealth of information, so wealthy I've regressed back to being a newbie to the planted tank hobby again! =b

This would be my second foray into the planted tank, the first one being at least 7 years ago and the technology, the techniques and technicalities have just sky rocketed since then.

The lighting question therefore: I just recently acquired 2x 23 watt par38 CFL for my 48x24x22 custom tank. After reading that article on PAR, i just realized if this would be enough to meet the lighting requirement needed by the plants. I'm not planning to use CO2 in my tank so I'm keeping it low tech, for now. I'm planning to hang them about 6 to 8 inches from the water, so I'm also worried about the water evaporating into the lighting fixtures and causing problems.

Thanks for taking time to read the post, looking forward to hear your thoughts! =)
