Anyone heard of ebiten shrimps?

I saw a listing on one of the auction sites for fish that had "Ebiten shrimps". it was supposed to be one of the japanese blood line of shrimps that had nice coloring.. is anyone familiar with any of them?

How much was the shrimp, may I ask? PRLs have a reputation for being expensive

In Imke' blog, a shrimp breeder stated "Ebiten usually gives a very big-sized offspring"
http://shrimpsider.wordpress.com/201...red-lines-prl/

So Yoyo's experience confirms that it grows bigger than the average CRS.

Which one did you buy? the SS or SSS?

My 6 Ebiten SSS arrives today safely today at my friend's house. I had him buy them for me and he's home for delivery.

It don't think they are high end ones, but it should be PRL. Yoyo is a trusted source IMO.

Well I'm not a shrimp geneologist but honestly Ebitens normally sell for $$$ because of the name tag. They're really nice shrimp too.

personally i dont care about pure thing or not-i i just think the coloring is a bit nicer and brighter; I do have few CrS i bought from this forum that have quite striking white/reds and they are not pure. I do really like the candy-cane striped patterns though, then mostly white...

yea, they were def more than i would usually shell out for shrimps, but i kindda was curious to see how they would compare to, my other crs. there are couple normal crs in my tank right now that looks quite nice(color wise, but is lower grade). I will try to post pictures tomorrow once they are introduced to the tank and colored back up though..
i am curious to see shortfin's ebiten shrimps that he got too

Yes, I'm thrilled. I've been waiting for them to be on sale again. I'm going to pick them up tonight.

Hopefully I can get some good photos before I kill them *knock on wood*.

ahhhh dont say that- you are gonna jinx it- i think regular WC def kills these crs faster than anything- you gotta "drip" in the fresh water into the tank, when you do WC.. i learned it the hard way lol.

if you would post your beautiful ebiten pictures(when you have time..).. we'd all be grateful
