Phytoplankton Fertilizer Question

I want to culture some phytoplankton. I have everything but the fertilizer. Can I use a mix of flourish aquarium fertilizer instead of going out and buying miracle gro?

You need to supply macro nutrients as well, which are not supplied by flourish. I suggest looking up culture media specifically designed for phytoplankton culturing. We used f/2 media with great success in our research laboratory.
