Iwagumi Rocks
Someone else in the atlanta area on this forum and I have been wondering where we could find Iwagumi rocks locally. Does anyone know? Thanks.

I forgot that I posted that question. Still have not gotten an answer to that question. I am thinking about looking up bonsai nursery's and see if they have any sort of rock that would work.
I just recently read that the igwamui traditional rock raised ph and GH and if one is keeping shrimp that is not always desirable. I might look into lava rock or lace rock which is supposed to be inert in that regard and according to a recent article in tropical fish magazine written by Amano using alternative rock like lava rock is an acceptable choice. Good luck to us both in finding these rocks. Mark |

I stumbleed across some great looking rocks last week when i was "walking the dog" AKA fishing !
Where the dam meets lake lanier (the 1st parking area) before you see the river on your left handside, there are some great looking rocks with great cuts, grooves and veins on all size rocks....... somehow they managed to "jump" inside the trunk of the car ! |

We carry lace rock at Aquarium Outfitters in Athens. It looks really nice in planted tanks.

Lace rock leaches, is good for African Cichlids, but not for softwater fish.

Unfortunately the ADA website wasn't working for some reason, so I accidentally got seiryu stones on evilbay. Only then did I remember that they raise GH and KH. -face palm-

Just my 2 cents.
These are granite rocks I picked up from a drainage area in Roswell.
