Endler population control
I have a heavily planted 90 gallon tank with Boesmani/Red/Turquoise rainbowfish, Denison barbs, gold barbs, harlequin rasboras and corys. If I added some Endlers to this tank, would my other fish feed on most of the fry to keep my Endler population from exploding? I am hoping to see the occasional fry escape and grow to adulthood.
... or would I be better off just buying some males only? Thanks! |

The rainbows might be big enough to feed on the fry.

Are you even going to get female endlers? I usually only see males for sale around here.

They might even be big enough to eat the smaller adult male endlers. Watch them.

Yeah, I saw a rainbow try to choke down a nugget of frozen food once. They do have big mouths.
