Losing Tetras, but not Otos or Shrimp?
Ok so I have lost 3 of my 5 cochu blue tetras slowely of the last week or so. Havent really gotten to do a water check with the API test kit but everything seemed fine on the test strip.
The real puzzler to me is that i haven't lost any RCS or Otos during all of this. Any ideas, gonna check the water today when I get home since I did like a 30% water change last night? |

RCS are very hardy and otos are also very hardy when they get acclimated. We have to know the water parameters before we can give you a definite answer.

I don't trust the strips.. Ive gotten bad readings more than once from the strips.

Ran outta time to test the water last night. Will try and get numbers at lunch or after work and get for some more help.
So after testing my water with the API master test kit, I got these results: Ammonia = 0 Nitrate = 0 Nitrite = 0 pH ~ 7.8 - 8 Nothing seems outta the ordinary. Had a battle with ich a couple weeks back and the one tetra that did have ich is one of the only two still alive. Water temp is back down to arroud 76F Last edited by c_gwinner; 06-29-2012 at 06:04 PM.. |
