Should I flood it or wait longer? All the plants are rooted already.

I also heard that when flooding the tank some HC might melt, how do I prevent this?

you blast the co2 when you flood the tank, since you wont have any animals in it right away, just blast the co2 really high, it should help with the melt. Ive had hc not melt at all when i ran high co2 after flood.

Thanks for the advice. I won't be having any animals in there when I flood it for about a week or so so I'll blast the Co2.

just a heads up on the drop checker solution. The fluid they give you with the drop checker is simply ph drops. when you get the 4dkh you need both. fill the drop checker with 4dkh then add a few drops of solution they gave you(ph drops).

I added some tropica 049. HC is starting to carpet. I'm going to flood this tank soon.

What type of fish should I get?

I plan to get:
10 CPD
4 ottos
2 Cory cat? What type should I get? Something small

I would not do corys in an iwagumi. They need cover to retreat to. Also I would not do only 2, they're only happy in groups. That said, I have no experience with dwarf or pygmy cories so they may be different.

Ok, no cory then. I want some sort of bottom feeder. What would be a good one? I will also have some CRS/CBS but not enough to clean up the left over food if there is any.

I flooded my tank yesterday and bumped up the Co2 to prevent HC melting. I also got a U.P. Aqua Super atomizer. Heard bad reviews about it saying that it does not work unless you have high pressure and also some says that it does not produce fine mist type bubbles. For me this atomizer works great not problems with pressure and the bubbles are very fine like mist.



Here is the video on the atomizer. I don't think you can see the very very fine mist. I will post more videos of the mist up later.

A little update since I added water in tank. I'm starting to have algae on my rocks and can see some forming on the plant leaves. Should I get some otos or lower light. It is a Odyssea 4x24watt but only using 2 bulbs so 2x24 watt for 7 hours a day.




The HC are pearling.


It pearls more where is diffuser is at.


THis is where is algae is at kinda brownish and green. I think its diatoms, hard otos are the best for taking care of this algae.

Since its been only 4 day, would it be too soon to add fish? I have been doing 40% water change everyday since.

A mini update. I added 3 assassin snails because they were eating my shrimps in my shrimp tank. Besides there are pond snails in the new set up.

How do you guys get rid of snails and egg on plants when you buy them? I just rinse in faucet water and rub each leaves.
