Substrate Question

Guys and Gals,
I'm about to start my paludarium/vivarium build here pretty soon. For the land portion I was thinking about doing a layered substrate. First layer gravel, second would be carbon (filter carbon), then organic potting soil on top. All this will sit on top of the egg crate which will be covered with window screen fabric.

What do you think?

Potting soil has a way of becoming quite waterlogged in a terrarium; it doesn't drain fast enough.

Consider using ABG mix instead...

Keep your gravel 1.5x thicker than (potting soil + carbon)
