Evolution of my tank :3

So this all started when I decided I wanted to get a betta. Fifty forum threads later I discovered I was a planted tank lover~ my first try to grow plants started with riccia moss and christmas moss.

sadly my christmas moss was eaten alive by green hair algae x.x...and I was forced to retire it but my riccia moss took off like a flame. I had so much I could have filled a 3 gallon bucket so after a month of growing the riccia moss I brought my little tree back into my tank and decided to buy some dwarf baby tears for a carpet and to use the riccia to cover my tree x3.

now my dwarf baby tears seems to be dieing which i think might be cuz of my lack of pressurized co2. right now all im giving it is some leafzone co2 booster and the same trace elements from seachem flourish stuff but I guess that just isnt enough for them u.u...hopefully they will come back if they die entirely.

and finally louis :3 the happiest little betta in the world who makes bubble nests every night and by morning has the entire top of my tank covered in bubbles XD. I dont care how cute he is he is NEVER gonna get a girlfriend, too many babies xD

i love it! the tree is really cool.
don't be too upset about the HC (dwarf baby tears), it's a picky plant and even some planted tank "experts" have trouble growing it. it really likes high light and heavy CO2 and fertilization.
your betta is gorgeous, too! where did you get him?

yea i have two cfl 14w bulbs on it which my riccia seems to be going nuts over. ONE DAY i will have a carpet i dont care how many times i have to kill HC its gonna carpet for me whether it likes it or not! Annnd Louis is actually from Petco the one i live close to always has so many pretty bettas i have to resist buying them >.<! Louis was originally a greyish black with some red on his fins now he's Purple, light blue, white, red, and pink lol

You light is not strong enough for baby tears. Why not try something that is easier like Dwarf Hair grass or moss grown on matts?

O.O really? not strong enough? hmm....well i have a couple of patches of baby tears that seem to be holding thier green but ill try to increase my lighting. I tried doing the mat first with my riccia but it was just a huge mess every single time i wanted to move the mats around and it was getting so dirty inside the riccia that it bothered me alot. So i decided to float it so my little shrimps could get inside it clean it that way if it gets really dirty like that again.
